{"id":24431,"date":"2022-01-10T14:16:48","date_gmt":"2022-01-10T14:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/?p=24431"},"modified":"2022-01-10T12:31:06","modified_gmt":"2022-01-10T12:31:06","slug":"govt-unveils-details-of-new-abridged-curriculum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/all-news\/govt-unveils-details-of-new-abridged-curriculum","title":{"rendered":"Govt unveils details of new abridged curriculum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>The government yesterday released details of the new post Covid-19 curriculum, seeking to help learners cope under the automatic promotion arrangement.<\/p>\n<p>Unveiling the particulars in a communication from the Ministry of Education to schools countrywide, the compressed curriculum will benefit all primary and secondary school classes, with the exception of Primary One, Senior One and Senior Five, who will focus their learning on the standard curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>The Education minister, Ms Janet Museveni, clarified that the new curriculum is a modification of the old one, aimed at recovering the lost learning time with minimum learning loss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Covid-19 pandemic caused a disruption in our education system and made learners miss schooling for almost 18 months.
