Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>It was a sombre mood yesterday as hundreds of people flocked to Nkokonjeru in Mukono District for the burial of renowned vlogger Ibrahim Tusuubira, alias Isma Olaxess and Jajja Ichuli.<\/p>\n

Tusuubira, the chairperson of the Uganda Bloggers Association, was shot dead by unknown assailants near his home in Kyanja, Kampala on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Several mourners, who included vloggers and artistes, attended his burial and were inconsolable.<\/p>\n

While addressing the mourners, Tusuubira\u2019s father, Muhammed Kasajja, asked whoever his son had wronged to forgive him.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Abbudallah Sserunjogi, who led the prayers, urged the public to be cautious when using social media to avoid being misjudged.<\/p>\n

\u201cBe careful with social media because every word written or spoken is circulated all over the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe world is watching everyone and people will judge you, so be careful. Allah should forgive him. If he hurt you please forgive him and you will also be forgiven,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Eddie Messiah, a blogger, described Tusuubira as a free and outspoken man who defended the truth without fear.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe shall miss him and he will always be remembered for being brave,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Another blogger, only identified as Kayanja, urged the government to investigate Tusuubira\u2019s murder and bring the perpetrators to book.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are saddened by our colleague\u2019s death and we blame the government for his death,\u201d he said before breaking down in tears.<\/p>\n

Mr Andrew Mukasa, aka Bajjo, said the late defended the rights of the underprivileged.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should learn to be open and fight for our rights but the problem in our country is we fear a lot,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ms Faridah Nabatanzi from National Unity Platform, who represented the party\u2019s leader, Mr Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, asked the government to investigate who is killing Ugandans.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd where are these bullets coming from?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n

Businessman Frank Gashumba said the deceased may have been killed for hurting others.<\/p>\n

\u201cMK (Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the presidential advisor special operations and First Son) has contributed Shs5 million towards the send-off of our colleague,\u201d Mr Gashumba said.<\/p>\n

Mr Tamale Mirundi, the former presidential press secretary, said police will bring to book all those who were involved in the killing of Tusuubira.<\/p>\n

\u201cMuseveni cannot kill people. Those who kill are even here to send off Isma,\u201d Mr Mirundi said.<\/p>\n

Music promoter Balaam Barugahara said Gen Muhoozi will be involved in the investigations to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested.<\/p>\n

Mr Muhammed Nsereko, the Kampala Central MP, said the late was a darling to all.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a poor boy who was looking for ways to survive but people failed to understand him,\u201d Mr Nsereko said.<\/p>\n

Other prominent people at the burial were Joseph Mayanja aka Chameleon, Bebe Cool, Halima Namakula, Bruno K, Bad Black, among others.<\/p>\n
