Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>A police officer attached to Counter Terrorism Tactical Unit in Naguru, Kampala has been detained on murder charges after he allegedly shot and killed his wife, a fellow officer.<\/p>\n

Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) David Ekwang is detained at Jinja Road Police Barracks after he allegedly shot and killed Cpl Atino Jennifer, attached to Very Important Person Protection Unit (VIPPU) at Parliament.<\/p>\n

AIP Ekwang is said to have used a yet-to-be-identified pistol in the 5pm Tuesday attack at Jinja Road Police barracks where they have been staying.<\/p>\n

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, SSP Patrick Onyango said the shooting was as a result of domestic violence.<\/p>\n

Motive of the killing: Arising from a domestic violence.<\/p>\n

Investigations are ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge as the case unfolds.<\/p>\n
