This was revealed in a press conference at Monitor Publications Ltd head offices in Namuwongo, Kampala addressed by Daily Monitor officials and Dr Ramin Matin, an obstetrician and gynecologist at Victoria Hospital.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Mr Joshua Watwaluma, the brand manager for Monitor Publications Ltd, urged to tune into Dembe FM and KFM to be able to win coupons for cancer tests at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not until you make that first step that you will know how important it is to know your health status,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Being NMG\u2019s customer service month too, where the company gives back to its clients, Mr Watwaluma said the company will be giving back to its clients and the community up to next month.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Matin said the first free cancer screening opportunity will be given to women targeting breast and cervical cancers. The men will be screened for prostate cancer. He added that the service will be provided up to the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe coupon to be won covers free general consultation, Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement, BP-blood pressure testing, dental check-up, eye check-up, (Complete Blood Count) CBC(23 parameters), RBS (Random Blood Sugar), Urine analysis (10 parameters), blood grouping, breast exam and 25 percent discount on a pap smear,\u201d Dr Matin said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the hospital will focus on breast and prostate cancers because they are the most common types of cancer worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The coupon for men will cover a digital exam, Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test and free general consultation.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Moses Katongole, the Dembe FM programmes controller, said detecting cancer in its early stages gives one a greater chance of defeating it quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Having a father who is grappling with prostate cancer, Mr Katongole said knowing that one has cancer in its late stages is hard to contain, and there is more pain and more costs involved in treatment.<\/p>\n<p>He, therefore, urged people to go and get tested for better treatment results.<\/p>\n<p>Once one wins a coupon, they go with it to Victoria Hospital and are able to get all the services indicated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\">Uganda<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Uganda.
