Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>Former Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has praised the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between the People\u2019s Republic of China and the Republic of Uganda.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ssekandi\u2019s remarks came during the reception of a donation of shs200 million worth of furniture from Chinese firm, Zhongxing Telecommunication Corporation (ZTE), to the Luyanzi Institute of Technology in Bweyogerere.<\/p>\n

Representing the Chinese Embassy in Uganda, Minister\u2019s Counselor Fan Xuecheng expressed gratitude for the thriving bilateral relationship between China and Uganda, highlighting its significant impact on trade and investment.<\/p>\n

He noted that as Chinese remains the most widely spoken language globally and China stands as a leading world business hub, many nations, including Uganda, have realigned their interests to actively partake in Chinese economic development for trade and development.<\/p>\n

During the handover ceremony of the furniture donation, former Vice President Ssekandi commended Uganda\u2019s cordial relationship with the Chinese government and the various contributions it has made to Uganda\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gesture by Zhongxing Telecommunication Corporation (ZTE) is timely when Uganda is strengthening skilling programs for job creation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ssekandi also expressed gratitude to Luyanzi Institute of Technology for their dedication to training 100 Chinese language instructors for secondary schools and the launch of skilling modules aimed at providing the Ugandan youth with employable skills.<\/p>\n

Fan Xuecheng, representing the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda, emphasized the embassy\u2019s readiness to offer more support for learning the Chinese language and culture.<\/p>\n

This initiative aims to strengthen the already robust relationship between the sister states of Uganda and China.<\/p>\n

Engineer Ayub Sooma, the Director of Luyanzi Institute of Technology, lauded Chinese companies for their unwavering support in the education sector, particularly for their contributions to the development of Ugandan youth with valuable skills, further preparing them for opportunities in the vast Chinese markets.<\/p>\n

Uganda\u2019s Deputy Attache\u0301 to China, retired Major General Fred Mugisha, expressed optimism that these positive developments will significantly enhance Uganda\u2019s image in the Republic of China, ultimately benefiting both nations and fostering continued growth and cooperation.<\/p>\n
