Africa-Press – Uganda. <\/strong><\/span>The head of Endiga (sheep) Clan in Buganda Kingdom was last evening shot dead by gunmen riding a motorcycle.<\/b><\/p>\n

Daniel Bbosa was shot severally in the head in his car at around 6pm in Lungujja, Rubaga Division, in Kampala. He died on spot.<\/p>\n

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said after the shooting of Bbosa, the shooter with his riders attempted to flee the crime scene but the residents put a chase.<\/p>\n

One of them was killed and another seriously injured and was by press time said to be in critical condition. \u201cThe residents intercepted the rider and the passenger. They disarmed them before they beat one of them to death. The suspected killer rifle and the motorcycle they used have been recovered,\u201d Mr Onyango said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur investigations to identify the suspects, the gun they were using, the owner of the motorcycle and the motive are still ongoing,\u201d he added. By press time, the police were still examining the crime scene.<\/p>\n

Mr Onyango said the recovered items and the bodies of the suspects would help them understand the motive of the killing. Buganda Kingdom through their social media accounts condemned the killing of the clan head.<\/p>\n

The incident could be the first time armed suspects using motorcycles have been apprehended soon after the shooting of a prominent person and a killer gun recovered since the shooting of the Muslim sheikhs in December 2014.<\/p>\n

In all the previous incidents, the suspects have been fleeing with no trace or arrests after a long search.<\/p>\n

Murders are on the increase, with 4,366 people killed in 2023, a five percent increase in comparison to 2022. Of the 4,366 people killed last year, 330 were shot dead.<\/p>\n

On January 2, gunmen using a motorcycle attacked Pastor Aloysius Bugingo while he was driving his motor vehicle, killing his SFC guard.<\/p>\n
