Africa-Press<\/a> – Uganda<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>CRIME | The Buganda Road court magistrate, Dorothy Bagyenyi has remanded Margaret Nakayima aka Maggie Kayima popularly known as Nabbi Omukazi to Kigo prisons on charges of accessory after the fact contrary to Section 393 (1) and 394 of the Penal Code Act.Nakayima, 31, an artist and former girlfriend of the late Pastor Augustine Yiga of Kawaala Revival Church is charged together with Pastor Siraje Ssemanda of the Revival Church, Bombo in Luwero district. Others on the cases sanctioned by the Resident State Attorney include Jimmy Arinaitwe, one of the directors of Hands Across the World Initiative Uganda Limited, and Pastor Franklin Mondo Mugisha.Wearing a white jumper, Nakayima denied the charges read to her and she was remanded till December 22, 2020.Court heard that on November 15, 2020, between Kampala and Mutukula border in Kyotera assisted Pastor Ssemanda with knowledge that she was committing an offense in order to enable him to escape punishment.The magistrate rejected her lawyer’s application for bail.In one of the counts, Pastor Ssemanda, who is already on remand, is charged together with Arinaitwe and other still at large to have defrauded sh28.2m from Edward Masaba Muhehe by falsely pretending that their organization, ‘Hands Across the World Initiative Uganda Limited would construct Churches, houses for the needy, provide scholarships and educate the needy children in the community whereas not.In another count, Ssemanda and Arinaitwe and others still at large between 2017 and March 2019 in Bombo Luwero and Kampala with intent to defraud obtained sh18.12m from Isaac Matovu by falsely pretending that their organization would construct churches, houses for the needy, scholarships and educate the needy children in the community from whose parents the money was collected whereas not.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
