{"id":7438,"date":"2021-03-31T17:24:06","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T17:24:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/?p=7438"},"modified":"2021-03-31T17:22:36","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T17:22:36","slug":"celebrate-easter-with-nestle-recipes-with-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\/all-news\/celebrate-easter-with-nestle-recipes-with-love","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate Easter with Nestl\u00e9 Recipes with Love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/uganda\">Uganda<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Easter celebrations got off to a tasty start as South Africa\u2019s most loved brands NESTL\u00c9 RECIPES WITH LOVE, NESTL\u00c9 COCOA and NESTL\u00c9 KLIM invited select media and content creators to the Easter #DelightfullyMzansi virtual cooking showcase which took place last week at Nestl\u00e9 cooking studios in Bryanston.<\/p>\n<p>The three iconic brands were the stars of the cooking showcase which was headed by Chef Sizwe Cebekhulu.<\/p>\n<p>The cook-off saw popular actor Nkuli Tshirimbula, and the much-lauded social media content creator Christo Thurston turning the heat as they, along with select media joining virtually, prepared delightful Easter meals to celebrate the four-day holiday.<\/p>\n<p>As palates rose in anticipation, the chemistry between the cooks was infectious as they were trying to work out the recipes. It was evident that they all had a genuine passion for cooking and a desire to become better cooks, if not for themselves then to delight their loved ones during special occasions.<\/p>\n<p>The cook-off saw the cooks prepare a decadent chocolate pudding for dessert which was paired with a creamy linefish as the main course.<\/p>\n<p>Want to try it yourself? Here are two tasty recipes:<\/p>\n<p><b>Linefish with Creamy Lemon and Caper Sauce prepared by Nkuli Tshirumbula<\/b><\/p>\n<p>*Serves 4<\/p>\n<p>Prep time: 5 mins \u2022 Cooking time: 30 mins<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>4x 125g linefish (hake) fillets<\/p>\n<p>3 tbsp (45ml) oil<\/p>\n<p>1 onion, chopped<\/p>\n<p>2 garlic cloves, crushed<\/p>\n<p>2 cups (500ml) basic creamy white sauce (see recipe below)<\/p>\n<p>3 tbsp (45ml) capers<\/p>\n<p>\u2153 cup (80ml) green olives<\/p>\n<p>Fresh thyme and\/or marjoram leaves<\/p>\n<p>1 lemon, sliced<\/p>\n<p>Salt and black pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p>Method:<\/p>\n<p>Heat the oil in a pan and sear the fish for 2\u20133 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.<\/p>\n<p>Return the pan to the heat and fry the onions and garlic for 4\u20135 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add white sauce, capers, green olives and herbs and cook for 2\u20133 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Return the fish to the pan and cook for 4\u20136 minutes (depending on the fish).<\/p>\n<p>Squeeze fresh lemon over the fish. Garnish with remaining lemon slices and parsley before serving.<\/p>\n<p>Basic creamy white sauce<\/p>\n<p>*Makes 2 cups<\/p>\n<p>Prep time: 5 minutes \u2022 Cooking time: 8 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp (30ml) butter<\/p>\n<p>3 tbsp (45ml) cake flour<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup (125ml) fish or vegetable stock<\/p>\n<p>2 cans (240g) NESTL\u00c9 DESSERT &amp; COOKING CREAM<\/p>\n<p>Salt and black pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p>Melt the butter in a pan and whisk in the flour. Cook for 2 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add the hot stock and keep whisking. Gradually add the cream and cook for 3\u20134 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Chef\u2019s note: To make a cheese sauce, add 1 cup grated cheddar cheese.<\/p>\n<p><b>Giant Chocolate Cookie Pudding prepared by Nkuli Tshirumbula<\/b><\/p>\n<p>*Serves 10<\/p>\n<p>Prep time: 30 mins \u2022 Cooking time: 30 mins<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>160g butter, at room temperature<\/p>\n<p>150g demerara sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 egg<\/p>\n<p>125ml NESTL\u00c9 KLIM<\/p>\n<p>60ml NESTL\u00c9 COCOA POWDER<\/p>\n<p>15ml vanilla essence<\/p>\n<p>250g cake flour, sifted<\/p>\n<p>5ml bicarbonate of soda<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp of salt<\/p>\n<p>NESTL\u00c9 Smarties and Easter eggs, to decorate<\/p>\n<p>Vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce to serve<\/p>\n<p>Method:<\/p>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 180\u00b0C. Grease a 25cm round baking dish or pan.<\/p>\n<p>Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl and beat until fluffy. Add the egg, evaporated milk and vanilla and beat to combine.<\/p>\n<p>Add cake flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt and mix together with a spatula. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and smooth the top. Stud the top with Smarties.<\/p>\n<p>Bake in the preheated oven for about 15\u201320 minutes, until cooked on the outside but soft inside.<\/p>\n<p>Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Uganda.
