Africa-Press – Zambia. In spite of whatever some of you may think, I still stand with President Lungu but I will not support wrong things, I am for the truth and justice. I know others would want me to keep quiet, because what I am saying may not be in their favour, however, allow me to speak so that next time I can speak for you as well.
This case started around October 2019 when Lawrence Banda was shot dead in Kaoma during a by-election. Soon after the shooting, allegations and pointing of fingers arose.
Francis Muchemwa came running to me with evidence that he was not in Kaoma at the time of the shooting. As a man of justice I stood with Muchemwa to defend him, but you accused me of having been hired.
However, the issue still remained unresolved to-date. No arrests were done and the issue just hanged in the air, together with the spirit of Lawrence Banda.
In spite of being a political cadre the man that died was a family man, he had people that looked up to him and loved him. It is, therefore, only fair that his family, and as a society, we bring a close to this matter and let the spirit of Lawrence Banda rest in peace.
As such, I would support any efforts by the police to establish who killed Lawrence, regardless of who that person maybe or who is connected to him. We cannot stand for the rights of one or few selected people neglecting the rights of a person that was killed in cold blood.
MAY THE SOUL OF LAWRENCE BANDA REST IN PEACE AS WE FIGHT TO GET JUSTICE FOR HIM TAYALI THE PUBLIC LAWYER OF THE PUBLIC COURT OF OPINIONS! He may be died but he has the rights even in his death, which we must protect so that human life can be respected. By saying this, I am not saying Shabby Chilekwa is guilty, but I am against the propaganda against the police to distract them from doing their job.
Of course I also call upon the police to be professional as they do their job. Therefore, I would want to call upon all of us to be patient while the police do their job. Shabby Chilekwa has since been taken to Kaoma where the crime happened for continued investigations. I see nothing wrong with that.
