Africa-Press – Zambia. Being a UPND member more especially on the Copperbelt was a decision which came with alot of sacrifice. When alot of youths left us after loosing the 2015 and 2016 elections to eat and wine with those who made our lives a living hell, a few remained with us fighting battles with well equipped PF thugs who had the government machinery on thier backs.
They were arrested without being charged, fired from place of employment, no one wanted to be associated with them, they were mocked cadre wa mu Tonga and spent so many nights in the bush just for standing by our side.
Now that we have overcome, the reward system should not be unfair to those who have lost thier 7 years of their productive life for what we have achieved today.
We should not adopt reverse discrimination in the name of being fair when other have lost morethan other in our struggle. Some empowerment programs should deliberately be twisted towards UPND members for them to recover and start to move at the same speed with others. Abashi reverse discrimination.
