Africa-Press – Zambia. Kamwala Ward Councillor Mainda Simataa has reported former Kabwata MP Given Lubinda and Andrew Lwenje a teacher of Kamwala High School and Chairman of Given Lubinda Foundation to the Anti-Corruption Commission for being in possession of community property (Kamwala Play Park) reasonably believed to have been corruptly aquired.
Simataa was accompanied by UPND Alliance partner, Secretary General of the RPP Stanley Malama when he presented a dossier of documents to ACC which includes a 2009 site map indicating that the property was originally earmarked as a play park; a petition written to Lusaka City Council by the residents of Kamwala on 10th May 2017 to stop Hon. Lubinda from taking over the property; and a 13 year lease agreement given to Given Lubinda Foundation by LCC dated 25 March 2020.
Speaking to the media after submitting the dossier, Simataa and Malama urged the ACC to expedite investigations and hoped for a speedy and favorable outcome whereby the play park could be given back to the community to whom it rightly belongs.
Also present was Mr. Masiye Milanzi a resident of Kamwala who said the people of Kamwala were determined to get their property back as it is needed for community use such as recreation and training skills necessary for youths development in the area.
