Africa-Press – Zambia. Vice President Mutale Nalumango has advised people who served in the PF regime and were involved in financial crimes to surrender the money to the state or risk being prosecuted.
Mrs.Nalumango has admitted that that financial crime are difficult to probe but the new dawn government is determined to recover all the stolen public resources.
She has warned that anyone who will only surrender part of the stolen assets will be brought to book. Mrs.Nalumango said the Anti Corruption Commission Act provides for leniency if one surrenders stolen property to the state.
She was responding to a question from Sikongo MP Mayungo Simushi during the Vice President’s question time who wanted to know if it is possible to arrest people who served in the previous regime and charge them collectively to account for the alleged crimes committed while in office.
