Africa-Press – Zambia. Ask my wife, I have never beaten her before because I love her, says President Hakainde Hichilema. The President implored men to love their women. Speaking when he graced the commemoration of the International Women’s Day in Lusaka today, President Hichilema said love is fundamental.
The Head of State added that love has the ability to put Gender Based Violence to an end. “We can say all the things we have said here, we can provide the free education, but there is something that is fundamental. Love,” he said.
“If we love our women, it is not possible to beat the wife that you love. Ask my wife, I have never touched her, not a single day because I love her. I urge the men to love their wives, that love will take away GBV. You are a young man with a girlfriend, love her. There is no child abuse in the house if there is love. How can a father take his own child to be if they love her? Love conquers a lot of evil,” he said.
