Africa-Press – Zambia. The UPND youth leadership has invited the youths across the country for an Indaba at Mulungushi International Conference Centre to discuss issues affecting them.
Deputy National Youth Chairperson in charge of politics and mobilization Trevor Mwiinde said in an exclusive interview that the reasons for the youths gathering is to enable them air their grievances and create a road map on how to take advantage of the available opportunities created by the party and government.
He said the invitation has already been made through the ministry of Youths and Arts to attend the conference which will take place at Mulungushi. He said the party wants to ensure that the voice of the youth is listened to and acted upon.
According to Mwiinde, the youth leadership will be graced by the top party leadership. The youth contributed a lot to the victory of the party in the just ended elections
He advised the youths to behave and not to emulate the bad behavior learnt from the PF. He said the country belongs to all the people of Zambia and not those from the ruling party only.
He denied that there are people being left out in the empowerment programs launched by the government. He said the youth leadership is available to link those that feel left out from the empowerment programs.
He said the government had a well thought out agenda for the empowerment of youths and those who feel left out are not aware of the program. He invited those people to come on board and learn how the program works and get involved in the program. Mr. Mwiinde was speaking in an interview at the UPND Secretariat earlier this morning.
