Africa-Press – Zambia. We hold the role of the Speaker in the highest esteem and will always respect the office. We understand the importance of impartiality that comes with this critical function in a democratic dispensation. It is an office that calls for fairness and equal treatment for all members of the House.
Our defence of the Constitutional provisions and our desire to uphold the clearly defined and established tenets of the Rule of Law now find us removed from the House and a large portion of the electorate excluded from national affairs.
It is an immense honour to represent the various peoples, views and political affiliations of Zambia in the House, in particular the people of Chawama and we wish to continue to serve with dignity, and in addition, continue to uphold the Constitution while we carry out our parliamentary duties on behalf of the people of Zambia.

Answer: An error was noticed on page 1 of the Yellow Book when debating Head 01 . Answer: The mandate indicated for head 01 ( State House budget ) was erroneously drawn from Articles 33 and 34 of the Constitution of Zambia, Act No. 18 of 1996.
Answer : They are NOT because the Constitution of 1996 was replaced by the Constitution of 2016 through amendments and consequently, Articles 33 and 34 are no longer valid.
*Answer: Yes, he was right because proceeding to debate would have meant breaching the 2016 Constitution of Zambia.
Answer: Yes, the Minister changed the wording to read the correct provision NOT the wrong 1996 provision. Answer: No, we did not protest again. Answer: YES, the MPs supported the estimates under head 01.
