Unifi Zambia donates oxygen concentrators valued at K164,000 to UTH in Lusaka

Africa-PressZambia. Unifi Zambia has made a donation of oxygen concentrators valued at K164,000 to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka. As a financial institution that is committed to making life easier for the communities it serves, Unifi Zambia has joined efforts to mitigate the alarming rise in the COVID-19 cases and deaths in the country.

Medical institutions in Zambia are currently experiencing a shortage of oxygen cylinders as the country combats the worst wave of coronavirus since the first case of the pandemic was reported in March 2021. The University Teaching Hospital has confirmed that a significant number of COVID-19 patients admitted to hospital require oxygen therapy. UTH Head of Clinical Care Dr Mwila Lupasha commended Unifi Zambia on the donation stating that, “This donation will go a long way in assisting us with our service delivery to patients struggling with the coronavirus. With Unifi Zambia leading by example, we hope this sparks more contributions from the corporate community as Zambia continues to fight this pandemic.”

Speaking at the delivery of the donation, Unifi Zambia CEO Emil Paul said, “We value our medical personnel who are at the forefront of this fight. Equipping them with the tools they need is the best we can do to ease their daily battle with this terrorising pandemic. We believe in helping to better the lives of our clients, and with the trying times that the pandemic has brought upon us, we can only hope for more combined efforts to eradicate this public health crisis.”

Unifi Zambia has adopted strict COVID-19 preventative measures in their 26 branches across the country. Clients may also access their financial services from the comfort and safety of their homes with the Uniapp by dialing *414# on their mobile phones.
