Africa-Press – Zambia. The ruling United Party for National Development in Kafue has unreservedly apologized to Government over an attempt by its cadres to hound out of office three Government officers based at the District Education Board Secretary’s premises.
Kafue UPND District Chairman Clifford Mwaba said the conduct of the youths who attempted to lock the offices three public officers is an embarrassment not only to the party but also the head of state.
Mwaba who had rushed to the DEBS office upon getting information that some UPND youths were attempting to lock the DEBS office, Mwaba condemned the move by some ruling party youths who took the law in their own hands and attempted to forcefully remove public officers.
He assured Government that today’s incident will not happen again as the party in Kafue will deal with the youths Administratively. Mwaba said President Hakainde Hichilema has categorically said that he doesn’t want youths to engage in illicit activities that made the previous regime unpopular.
“First and foremost I wish to state that as a party in Kafue, we wish to apologize over what has happened today, the New Dawn Government under my able President does not condone illegalities. The action by the Youths had no Blessings of the party and as such what they did is against the policy of UPND” Mwaba said.
And District Education Standard Officer, Lucy Chipeta Njobvu who is acting DEBS complained to Mwaba how the UPND youths showered her with insults. The visibly truamatized Njobvu wondered why the Youths wanted to remove her from office when she didn’t commit any crime.
