Africa-Press – Zambia. The UPND in Lusaka Province is calling on police to investigate a matter in which patriotic Front Media Director Antonio Mwanza is reportedly to have advised Former President Edgar Lungu not to concede defeat after the August 12, 2021 election loss.
UPND Lusaka Province Chairman Obvious Mwaliteta says it is on record that Mr Mwanza offered advice to Mr. Lungu not to hand over power after losing last year’s elections, a matter he says must be investigated as it amounts to treason.
Mr. Mwaliteta adds that Mr. Mwanza is also on record wishing President Hakainde Hichilema death while in prison the time he was in opposition and has continued to peddle lies, insults and propaganda against the head of state, behavior Mr. Mwaliteta says will not be tolerated anymore.
And Mr. Mwaliteta says the party has noted with displeasure the continued abuse and insults towards President Hichilema by members of the patriotic front.
But when contacted, pf media director Antonio Mwanza says it is his democratic right to criticize the head of state and feels the remarks by Mr. Mwaliteta are meant to silence him.
