Africa-Press – Zambia. THE World Cup bound Copper Queens were rewarded with $4, 000 EACH for beating Nigeria’s Super Falcons to bag bronze at the just ended Women Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The girls got a total of $7, 500 for the group phases: for holding Cameroon ($1, 500) and $3,000 each for beating Tunisia and Togo. And then $3, 500 EACH for eliminating Senegal. And before departing for Morocco, the Copper Queens received $1, 500 EACH for qualification to the WAFCON.
At today’s exchange rate the total $16, 500 is about K264, 000.The Copper Queens received $5, 000 EACH for qualifying to the Olympics. FAZ president Andrew Kamanga has disclosed that Football House shall motivate the Copper Queens more for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year.
