Africa-Press – Zambia. The Zambian duo of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu impressed for their respective sides as Brighton & Hove Albion came out emphatic 5-2 winners over visiting Leicester City in an English Premiership encounter.

Both Chipolopolo Stars put-in spirited individual shifts. Arguably Leicester City striker, Patson Daka had the biggest impact of the two, capping of the afternoon with a goal and an assist.

Daka first teed up teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho within the first minute to hand the Foxes an early lead. The hosts rallied two goals in a five-minute interval, with Enock Mwepu selflessly assisting Caicedo to make it 2-1.

Daka then latched onto a long ball played through by Tielemans, before coolly slotting past the keeper to make 2-2 about 18 minutes before the break. Into the Second half, Brighton played with a higher press and vigor; Leicester City simply had no response.

Following an effort disallowed by VAR in the 48th minute and Mwepu’s well struck effort at the near post saved by the keeper, the Seagulls got their deserved third courtesy of Trossard’s effort.

From then on, it was one-way traffic as Brighton turned their dominance into a resounding 5-2 win thanks to a brace from Mac Allister – a converted penalty and another goal deep in stoppage time.

Daka, who had a snapshot well saved in the 85th minute, completed the full 90 minutes, whereas Mwepu was rested in the 84th minute after a very good shift in more attacking role.

This afternoon’s impressive performances by the duo will go a long way in helping their claims for permanent starting XI places for their respective clubs.

Following the result, Brighton maintain fourth position on the log table, while Leicester City remain rock bottom as pressure continues to mount on Brendan Rodgers’ side.
