Africa-Press – Zambia. The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- has appointed BESTON CHAMBESHI as new Chipolopolo Head Coach on an interim basis. CHAMBESHI who is the 2017 Under 20 AFCON winning Coach takes over from Serbian National MILUTIN SREDOJEVIC who parted ways with Football House early this month.
The Nkana Coach will be assisted by Zesco United Head Coach NUMBA MUMAMBA who takes over from OSWALD MUTAPA. FAZ has also appointed former Croatia National team and Lokomotiv Moscow Assistant Coach ALJOSA ASANOVIC as Chipolopolo Technical Advisor.
The FAZ executive committee has made changes to the technical bench following a meeting held on July 24, 2021. The Association has announced the interim changes to the technical bench in readiness of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers that commence in September.
The reconstituted bench will be in charge for three months and the FA states that they are confident that CHAMBESHI and MUMAMBA will deliver, looking at their track record.
FAZ has since expressed gratitude to Nkana and Zesco United football Clubs for allowing the duo to serve club and country as coaches for a short-term period.
The FA has also thanked the Croatian Football Association for allowing ASANOVIC to take up the appointment, away from his role at the Association where he serves as an instructor in the technical directorate in Croatia. This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC Sports News by FAZ Communications Manager SYDNEY MUNGALA.
