Africa-Press – Zambia. President Hakainde Hichilema, this morning, met and interacted with Zambian troops deployed in the Central African Republic, under the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations, MINUSCA.

He thanked them for the great service they were rendering in supporting and maintaining peace on the continent. “We reaffirmed our commitment to continue supporting them amidst the many challenges they are facing during these risky missions.

“It was for this reason that we reviewed their allowances from the previous 50 percent to 100 percent, as a way of expressing gratitude for their patriotism and dedication to duty,” he said.

President Hichilema assured them that their government is already assisting their families through the provision of free education that he believes has lightened their burden.

“We ask the rest of the citizens to continue praying for them as they execute these missions in foreign lands.

“As we always say, instability anywhere is instability everywhere. God bless our forces,” he said.
