Africa-Press – Zambia. THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has intercepted 115 boxes of smuggled cigarettes that would have led to a loss of K 3.9 million in taxes.

ZRA Acting Corporate Affairs Manager OLIVER NZALA says the boxes of cigarettes were intercepted at Nakonde Border after scanning the truck. He said this in an interview with ZNBC.

Mr. NZALA says the boxes of cigarettes were not declared at the border and were concealed behind boxes of food warmers that were packed in front. He says ZRA has continued investing in high-tech technology to enhance its operations. Mr. NZALA has further advised importers and exporters to pay taxes and avoiding being inconvenienced.
