Africa-Press – Zambia. There’s no better time than now when we can convene an indaba where citizens from various walks of life could dialogue on how to collectively address many challenges the country is grappling with.
We have noted with dismay how politicians, human right activists, the clergy, traditional leaders , trade unionists, media practitioners, civil society leaders, and ordinary Zambians spend their precious time bickering on petty issues instead of pondering on home-grown solutions to the current socio-economic challenges the country is grappling with.
It’s unfortunate that we have lamentably failed to make time for dialogue as citizens who share common values. Yet, we find time to warmly interact with foreign elements whose political ideologies we espouse.
It’s unacceptable that we have taken turns to pour scorn, ridicule and contempt on each other for holding divergent views! Let’s bury our differences, and come together as a people and talk on the same forum instead of ranting and shouting at each other on different platforms.
