Africa-Press – Zambia. A 25-year-old woman has been arrested in Lusaka for allegedly obtaining over 100 thousand kwacha from some unsuspecting members of the public, under FALSE pretences.
SELINA MOYO, of Zingalume area in Lusaka, allegedly obtained K102, 400 from 16 people, promising them jobs in Zambia Army and Zambia National Service -ZNS.
The suspect had initially deceived her own mother, claiming that someone at ZNS had promised her employment in exchange for K25,000, which she was given.
She further demanded an additional K20, 000, from her mother with the promise of securing employment for her younger brothers in the Zambia Army.
Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA has confirmed, saying the fraudulent activities happened between February 2024 and July 2024 in Lusaka’s Zingalume compound.
