Africa-Press – Zambia. President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says his Government will continue to uphold the legacy of Zambia’s founding father KENNETH KAUNDA by making education and sport free for all.
President HICHILEMA says the UPND is working to ensure that the legacy is followed, through free education which is already in place as well as ensuring that all sports disciplines are equal.
The Head of State says it is the duty of Zambians to strive to ensure that education as well as Sports are prioritized and made accessible to all despite the limited resources.
President HICHILEMA said this when gracing the KK Day Golf tournament held at the State House golf course.
He has since thanked all Zambians that took time to take part in various activities like golf.
President HICHILEMA also disclosed that in honor of the founding father, the tournament will become an annual event adding that the State House golf-course should be used as a practicing ground to train young golfers and playing the sport.
He has further called for unity of purpose in order to attain economic success as Dr. KAUNDA did.
And, Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU says various sports events where held across the country in honor of the late first President’s legacy.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Dr KAUNDA’s Son PANJI , thanked President HICHILEMA for the continuous support rendered to the family and his exemplary leadership.
