Africa-Press – Zambia. President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says his administration will continue to push hard in 2026 to build a resilient economy that will benefit all ZAMBIANS.

President HICHILEMA says his administration will next year strive to maintain the peaceful atmosphere and unity that has been enhanced since 2021.

He has since called on ZAMBIANS to trust his administration’s resolve to develop Zambia economically, socially and politically.

The President says just like the biblical episode of the children of ISRAEL’s journey to the promised land, the process of recording remarkable progress in every spheres of the nation though difficult shall be achieved by God’s grace.

President HICHILEMA said this during his New Year’s Eve address on ZNBC Television and Radio in LUSAKA this evening.

The Head of State said as a matter of reflection, the UPND Government recorded a milestone in the economic, political and social development of ZAMBIA.

President HICHILEMA said the UPND managed to stabilise the economy, strengthened the Kwacha’s exchange rate and created employment opportunities.

On the mining and agriculture sectors, President HICHILEMA said that ZAMBIA produced one Million metric tonnes of Copper and four million metric tonnes of maize in 2025.

President HICHILEMA further said his administration has increased the Constituency Development Fund –CDF- allocation, a feat that has spread developmental projects to all parts of the country.

He said through the enhanced CDF, Zambians in their various localities have had a chance to have a direct participation in developmental projects.
