Africa-Press – Zambia. Lusaka province PF acting youth chairman, Kelvin Kaunda says with the right leadership in place the former ruling party is likely to bounce back in 2026.
In an interview, Mr. Kaunda said the upcoming convention will determine the future and sustainability of the PF. He said the PF still has an opportunity to form government in 2026.
” We are the main opposition party now and we have an opportunity as a party to form government once again and this is embedded in the leadership we will put in place during the convention,” Mr. Kaunda said.
“We will lose it if we choose wrong leadership.
We need leadership that appeals to the general populace and PF has the capacity to bounce back into office. We need to rebuild and appeal to the people, the convention speaks to the future and sustainability of the party,” he said.
Mr. Kaunda adds that people are expectant that the Central Committee will rise to the expectation of the membership. ” We expect a new crop of leadership that will inspire hope to the people of Zambia. We can’t completely eradicate the old names in the party Among the old folks there are still good names and we will be happy to embrace them,” Mr. Kaunda said.
