Africa-Press – Zambia. It’s very scandalous and nonsensical to arrest Mr. Steven Chikota who has exposed an Illegal miner stealing Sugilite worth millions of dollars. For me, so long I am Zambian, it’s better for Zambians to engage in illegal mining, sell their produce, buy or build houses and enjoy their money with Zambians than seeing and allowing a foreigner to illegally mine our Minerals without proper documentations, evade tax by smuggling our precious minerals through the help of corrupt individuals.
I also don’t like the fact that Police officers are used to shield these criminal activities by criminals which I feel makes some Police officers criminal too. In the past regime, the majority of these Police officers were hard core criminals who were used to commit crimes by the PF government officials.
Now that government has changed, I expect to see total sanity in the Zambia Police service. If anything, these so called men and women in uniform must bow down, apologize and ask for forgiveness from the UPND populace and the Zambian people because these officers are not sacred cows or messiahs that they can commit crimes today and never be touched.
