ZAMBIA\u2019S most celebrated, admired and ambassadors of the nation\u2019s cultural heritage, the Sakala Brothers have split after 25 years of working together.<\/p>\n

Levy Sakala, member of the group confirmed to Times Entertainment that he will no longer be part of the Sakala Brothers. He however, thanked Moses for the support he rendered to him during \u2018trying moments.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI went through a near death experience in August last year and as such I have decided to dedicate my life to God who saw me through,\u201d he said. Levy dropped the bombshell after missing this year\u2019s N\u2019cwala ceremony concert at Wild Life conservation in Chipata last week.<\/p>\n

The Zamtel sponsored bash has become synonymous with Ngoni\u2019s and visitors to Chipata as it is held to celebrate the Nc\u2019wala ceremony with a contemporary touch. During the show, Moses was spotted a loner without his \u2018half\u2019.<\/p>\n

He tried to charm the audience with the dancers while constantly reminding the audience that Levey Sakala was not well and could not be part of the celebrations.<\/p>\n

When contacted for a comment why he had missed the show just like the previous one during the Road Safety Week awareness launch in Lusaka recently, Levy said he has now started singing gospel music with the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) choir.<\/p>\n

The choir has since released an album which they intend to market soon. \u201cThe Sakala Brothers has been there for a long time and I wish them success but I have decided to choose God over them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Sakala Brother\u2019s have been hailed as the most disciplined and celebrated traditional artists in Zambia and represented the country well around the world. Efforts to get Moses failed as he was not reachable on his mobile.<\/p>\n

They have recorded hits such as Kumawa, Sandra, Ndina Babaika, Tolilo Vovo, Puteni Chimwela and recently released the smash hit album Born in Matero which scooped the Best Recorded album at this year\u2019s Zambia Music Awards sponsored by Mosi Lager brand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
