Therefore,in August ,2009 the late president Fredrick Chiluba was aquitted of all charges by magistrate Jones Chinyama.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly 2015,the Late President Dr Rupiah Bwezani Banda was arrested but later aquitted on trumped up charges involving the US$2.5 million government-to-government oil deal in the alleged abuse of power during his time in office.<\/p>\n<p>But it is shocking that up-to-date no compensation whatsoever was given for wrongful prosecution and for bringing the name of the gallant former Head of State into disrepute.<\/p>\n<p>The country has in the recent past witnessed similar cases of wrongful prosecution with some involving the traditional leadership.
