Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>President Hakainde Hichilema has been offered a three hectares piece of land at Sing\u2019anda village in Mongu District of Western Province. Sing\u2019anda is a place where President Hichilema was said to have committed an offence of treason during the Patriotic Front (PF) regime\u2019s reign on 10th April 2017.<\/p>\n

Sing\u2019anda Headman Kalaluka Mubiana who is also Induna Kapui said his people were amazed at the resilience exhibited by President Hichilema during the time of arrest up to the time of his release.<\/p>\n

He said for this reason his village felt compelled to give the Head of State a piece of land where he can set up any structure of choice. Induna Kapui said the piece of land was a gift to remind Mr. Hichilema of the arrest on what he referred to as trumped-up treason charges by the previous regime.<\/p>\n

And the Head of State has paid tribute to the people of Sing\u2019anda village for the generous offer of land to his family and the country as a whole. Mr. Hichilema said he wished to construct a modern health facility that must have a maternity wing and wards to admit patients.<\/p>\n

President Hichilema says he will use his own family funds to construct the healthy facility at the area, further stating that his new dawn administration was in the office to give money to the people opposed to taking.<\/p>\n

The President was also given traditional gifts, namely a small scrub standing for a defensive tool by shepherds, and a small hoe and axe as tools meant for clearing of forests.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, President Hakainde Hichilema says traditional ceremonies should be supported to generate more revenue and in turn grow the tourism sector of the country. The President emphasised the need to make traditional ceremonies consistent so as to make them tourist attractions.<\/p>\n

President Hichilema was speaking at Limulunga Royal Village main arena after attending a royal banquet hosted by his Majesty the Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II this afternoon.<\/p>\n

He noted the importance of protecting traditional ceremonies so that they live forever in generations to come. President Hichilema pointed out the uniqueness of this year\u2019s ceremony saying if this continues it will accelerate the economic growth of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe economic growth of the country will accelerate if the country keeps re-uniting,\u201d he noted. The President thanked the business community, stakeholders and diplomats that travelled from afar to attend this year\u2019s Kuomboka ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thank the business community, cattle farmers, diplomats, tourists for the support, we are very delighted,\u201d he said. He advised the Barotse Royal Establishment to announce the date of the ceremony early to maximize on the tourism attraction.<\/p>\n

And President Hichilema this morning attended a church service at United Church of Zambia All Saints Congregation where he advised people of being united as one like the body of Christ.<\/p>\n

President Hichilema was in Western Province to attend the Kuomboka traditional ceremony which is one of largest traditional ceremonies in the country.<\/p>\n
