In a media statement, Dr Musokotwane said Zambia welcomes China\u2019s Finance Minister Liu Kun\u2019s statement at the meeting of G20 Finance Ministers that China, with the principle of collective action and fair burden sharing, is willing to implement the G20\u2019s Debt Service Suspension Initiative in a methodical fashion on a case by case basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also delighted with Governor of the Peoples Bank of China Mr Yi Gang\u2019s assurance that China is now actively participating in the G20 Common Framework and supports a case-by-case approach to addressing debt under the framework.<\/p>\n<p>We note China\u2019s request that the IMF should call on all parties, commercial creditors in particular to restructure their debt in the principle of comparability of treatment,\u201d Dr Musokotwane said.<\/p>\n<p>He said China\u2019s pronouncements at the 2022 Spring Meetings of the IMF\/World Bank are important building blocks in Zambia\u2019s case for debt restructuring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir message is very positive for us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zambia\">Zambia<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zambia.
