Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>Copper Queens forward Natasha Nanyangwe has big dreams ahead of the Morocco 2022 Women\u2019s Africa Cup Nations of Nations. Nanyangwe is eying an opportunity to sell herself on the global stage and help the team to their first World Cup qualification.<\/p>\n

The Green Buffaloes striker wants to help the Bruce Mwape tutored outfit to a first AWCON title. \u201cWe want to break the record and qualify for the World Cup, the fans back home are expecting that from us. We want to do that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to get an opportunity to get a deal to go abroad but the main objective why am here is to help the team to win the Africa Cup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nanyangwe feels the team needs to work on their finishing but was impressed with the communication and positional discipline in the 1-1draw with Morocco in an international friendly on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Zambia have been drawn in Group alongside Cameroon, Tunisia and Togo. Nanyangwe is aware of the tough task that lies ahead of the Copper Queens in their group.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe areas we need to work on are upfront, we need to work on finishing, we used to get carried away in some instances,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunication was very good and we kept positional discipline.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tournament is not going to be easy, even just our group is not easy we have tough opponents but we are ready for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Copper Queens have shifted base to the resort city of Marrakech from Rabat where they are expected to play two friendly matches as part of continued preparations for the 2022 Africa Women\u2019s Cup of Nations (AWCON).<\/p>\n

The Copper Queens start their campaign against Cameroon at the Mohammed V stadium on July 3 before facing North Africans Tunisia three days later. They will wrap up their Group B engagement with a tie against debutants Togo on 9 July.<\/p>\n

The top four finishers in Morocco will qualify directly for the World Cup to be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand in 2023, while two additional teams will progress to the intercontinental play-offs.<\/p>\n
