Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>Confusion has erupted within the UPND Alliance over who should be the alliance spokesperson. This follows the Republican Progressive Party\u2019s announcement that its party leader Cacious Akapelwa is the only official and recognized alliance spokesperson.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Party Secretary-General Stanley Malama said that President Hakainde Hichilema appointed late RPP President James Lukuku as alliance Spokesperson and the position has remained in the party.<\/p>\n

Mr. Malama has since advised the public to ignore anyone masquerading as the Alliance spokesperson other than Mr. Akapelwa who currently holds the position until President Hichilema makes a new appointment.<\/p>\n

And Mr. Malama has also announced the admission of Dr.Nevers Mumba leader of the New Hope Movement for Multiparty Democracy as an Alliance partner. But when reached for comment, Apostle Shimunza said he is still the Alliance spokesperson and he has the blessings of the UPND Alliance council of Presidents including President Hichilema.<\/p>\n
