Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka put in a 25 minute shift for Leicester City who succumbed to a loss at the hands of the Saints. City were handed their second defeat in a space of seven days as they gave away a one goal lead to lose 2-1 to Southampton.<\/p>\n

James Maddison\u2019s 54th-minute free-kick was overturned by a Ch\u00e9 Adams brace on Filbert Way in City\u2019s third outing of the 2022\/23 season. Daka came off the bench to replace Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy in the 65th minute playing the last 25 minutes at King Power Stadium.<\/p>\n

MADISON BEAUTY<\/b><\/p>\n

James Madison put Leicester in the lead in the 54th minute after they were awarded a free-kick at an awkward angle for a right-footer. A confident Maddison nevertheless stepped up, 25 yards out, offset to the right of the area. Whether deliberate or not, the movement of City\u2019s players in the box acted as a decoy, with the Saints clearly expecting a cross.<\/p>\n

There was a route round the three-man wall \u2013 and Maddison spotted it. A low curler had already left the Foxes No.10\u2019s boot by the time Bazunu dived towards the danger. The Saints \u2018keeper didn\u2019t have the time to get across to prevent the ball from bouncing in at the bottom corner.<\/p>\n

However, Madison\u2019s goal was not enough as Ch\u00e9 Adams struck in the 68th and 84th minute to secure a win for the Saints. Next up for Daka and his City teammates is a Carabao Cup journey at the second round stage on Tuesday with a trip to Sky Bet League 2 side Stockport County.<\/p>\n

Chelsea at Stamford Bridge is their next assignment in the Premier League next Saturday. Meanwhile in Denmark, Edward Chilufya put in a 23 minutes shift for FC Midtjylland who suffered a shock 2-0 loss at the hands of Aarhus.<\/p>\n

In Sweden, Emmanuel Banda put in a 76 minute shift for Djurgadens IF who played out to a 2-2 draw with Varbeg. In Scotland, Striker Fashion Sakala was an unused substitute for FC Rangers who played to a 2-2 draw with Hibernian. Sakala has now gone eight games without playing a single minute for Rangers. In the Championship, Frankie Chisenga Musonda put in a full shift for AYR who recorded a 2-1 win over Cove Rangers.<\/p>\n
