Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>Golden Party of Zambia leader Silavwe Jackson says the removal of Lilian Siyuni as Director of Public Prosecution leaves a lot of questions than answers. He says the move by President Hakainde Hichilema to fire Siyuni was ill advised and exposes his character.<\/p>\n

Having seen the Petition by Lillian Siyunyi SC, it is clear that the State avoided delving into the allegations that President Hakainde, Justice Minister Haimbe, Attorney General Kabesha Mulilo, DEC Director General Mary Chirwa and a host of UPND cadres and party functionaries made against the DPP.<\/p>\n

These allegations centered on the Milingo Lungu nolle. Milingo Lungu has petitioned over the State\u2019s decision to ignore the indemnity from prosecution given to Milingo Lungu. The State seems desperate to stop this petition from being heard.<\/p>\n

Milingo Lungu has in his filed statements mentioned the people who were involved in the lead upto the indemnity which was given to him as being, Solicitor General, Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha, Special Presidential Assistant Legal Christopher Mundia, Presidential Principal Assistant Bradford Machila, and none other than President Hichilema himself.<\/p>\n

None of these above people mentioned in Milingo Lungu\u2019s Petition have filed any statements in Court to directly answer or refute what Milingo Lungu has placed on record.<\/p>\n

Instead the State has made an application to try and kill the Petition and avoid having their witnesses give evidence on Oath and to be subject to cross examination.<\/p>\n

This fear of having the main players in the Milingo Lungu matter put to the test is clearly shown by the Attorney General failing to bring those charges against the DPP.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that DPP Siyunyi had requested that the Oath of Secrecy be lifted to allow her to talk about how the Milingo Lungu nolle and the subsequent prosecution came about.<\/p>\n

It is clear that the State was terrified of what Siyunyi would reveal and the President and his \u201cmen\u201d were determined to gag the DPP and tied her hands behind her back.<\/p>\n

Despite the Oath of Secrecy not being waived, it became apparent that if the Milingo issue was pursued by the State, the witnesses that the State would call were going to face cross examination that was going to be damaging.<\/p>\n

It is therefore no wonder that the State chose to abandon and not pursue the Milingo Lungu related complaints. What is still a wonder is, what exactly is the State afraid will be revealed if the Milingo Lungu matter is heard in either the DPP Tribunal or in the Milingo Lungu Petition?<\/p>\n

It is our considered view that the removal of DPP Siyunyi was a well calculated treacherous mission thus a sham. This removal has put a spotlight on the COLLECTIVE CHARACTER of those leading our Nation at the moment.<\/p>\n
