Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>The government has given mining companies operating illegally a 90 day ultimatum to regularise their operations. Speaking during media briefing today Mines Minister Paul Kabuswe said those found wanting after the window period will be taken to court.<\/p>\n

Kabuswe said the decision was arrived at during the recent cabinet meeting. He maintained that the mining firms will be confined to the initial 5 licence. The minister added that those who want more should justify. Mining is one of the key drivers of the Zambian economy, anchored mainly on copper.<\/p>\n
