Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>Any move by the new dawn administration to abandon the construction of the National House of Prayer will have dire consequences on the country\u2019s standing with God, the Bishops Council of Zambia (BCZ) has warned.<\/p>\n

BCZ General Secretary Bishop Abel Kaela said in an interview that those suggesting that the project to construct the House of Prayer should be abandoned are not being sincere with reality.<\/p>\n

He said the House of Prayer is a national symbol and an affirmation that Zambia is a Christian nation. Bishop Kaela said anyone who is going to stop the project and turn the House of Prayer into another thing will meet the wrath of God.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a church like those other churches we go to worship, that one is a national symbol that is meant to bring all Christians in unity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Bishop Kaela said those against the House of Prayer are a voice of the devil who should not be listened to. He said the committee that was put in place to spearhead the construction did not do a good job and were only preoccupied with their own interests.<\/p>\n

Bishop Kaela said a lot of money was put in the project and wondered why the project stalled despite a committee been put in place. \u201cThe problem is that the leaders that were chosen to spearhead the project were not committed to finish the project,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said the abolishment of the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs by the new dawn administration has contributed the delay in completing the project.<\/p>\n

Bishop Kaela called on Vice President Mutale Nalumango under whom the affairs of the Ministry of Religious affairs was transferred to ensure that resources are mobilised so that the House of Prayer can be completed.<\/p>\n
