Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>MTN Super League log leaders Power Dynamos have been handed a five match spectators ban by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Disciplinary Committee.<\/p>\n

Abayellow have been found guilty of failure to manage the crowd for their Week 11 home fixture against Green Buffaloes at Arthur Davies Stadium. Power Dynamos has also been fined a K50, 000 for being in breach of Article 67.1 of the Disciplinary Code.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Disciplinary Committee has found Power Dynamos Football Club guilty of failure to manage the crowd for their Week 11 home fixture against Green Buffaloes and will be banned from admitting fans for five home matches.<\/p>\n

In its verdict the Disciplinary Committee has fined Power Dynamos K50, 000 for being in breach of Article 67.1 of the Disciplinary Code. During their Week 11 match at Arthur Davies Stadium, a section of fans identified as Power Dynamos disrupted the match by pelting missiles on the pitch which caused a brief stoppage of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Disciplinary Committee considered the referees\u2019 report, written submissions and viewing pictures as part of the evidence submitted. \u201cWith all these facts and evidence before the committee, the committee came to the conclusion that as of Article 67.1, the first respondent was guilty as charged,\u201d reads the verdict in part.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 1st respondent (Power Dynamos) is guilty in terms of unidentified aggressors who by the 1st respondent\u2019s own admission are its club fans who pelted the objects of which as a result caused further disturbances and the match was halted due to the violence that ensued.\u201d<\/p>\n

The committee adds: \u201cTherefore the committee having established the guilty verdict on the 2nd respondent pronounces the following: that the 1st respondent is fined K50, 000. In terms of Article 67, Arthur Davies Stadium is closed to spectators for the next five Super League home matches and the 1st respondent to pay within 7 seven days of receipt of this verdict.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Power Dynamos have a right to appeal within 72 hours of receiving the verdict. FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says Football House expects clubs to do better in the second half of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will keep encouraging our clubs to enforce matters of safety and security at stadia to ensure that matches are enjoyed by fans who are the lifeblood of the game,\u201d Kashala said. Green Buffaloes on the other hand have been fined K150, 000 for their part on the chaos.<\/p>\n
