Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>KAMFINSA Member of Parliament Christopher Kang\u2019ombe has urged ZCCM-IH to consider renegotiating the 3.1 percent royalty transaction with First Quantum Minerals.<\/p>\n

Mr Kang\u2019ombe says ZCCM-IH should at least negotiate for 10 percent so that the country can benefit from Kansanshi mine. He says the 10 percent will help government to table gaps in financing the national budget.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker says if the country generates more revenue, it will be channeled to other economic sectors. He says that if ZCCM-IH fails to renegotiate, it should consider cleaning up bottlenecks in the<\/p>\n

dividend system. He says the country needs to be benefiting from the sector unlike what is happening. Mr Kang\u2019ombe says the country has enough resources but benefitted less from the sector.<\/p>\n
