Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>FIFA referee Diana Chikotesha has been named alongside Atezambong Fomo Carine of Cameroon as the only women assistant referee for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022 (to be played in 2023).<\/p>\n

Chikotesha and Carine will be part of the 19 male assistant referees that make up a total of 21 assistants that will assist 18 male referees and Vincentia Amedome of Togo who is the only female referee.<\/p>\n

Chikotesha has been growing steadily, getting local, continental, and global assignments. In April, \u2018Super Diana\u2019 was invited to the fabled Maurice Revello Tournament 2022 to be staged in France.<\/p>\n

In May, Chikotesha was appointed by FIFA to officiate at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup in Costa Rica. In July, She was in Morocco officiating at the 2022 TotalEnergies Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The tournament that will also have 12 VAR referees will be held from 13 January to 4 February 2023.<\/p>\n
