Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>Chikondi Foundation founder, Bishop John Mambo, has called on society to condemn opposition leader, Chilufya Tayali and any other person insulting the Head of State.<\/p>\n

Mambo says he was saddened to watch Tayali take to the microphone calling President Hakainde Hichilema a mentally disturbed person, two days after the repealing of the Criminal Defamation of the President Law.<\/p>\n

He reckons that Tayali had been sent by a group of individuals who have a common culture of exhibiting bitterness through insults and the preaching of hate.<\/p>\n

Mambo says it is also clear that Tayali had been sent to test the waters of the repealed law, describing the act as an affront to the country\u2019s values.<\/p>\n

He cautions that if society seats aside and let insults define the country\u2019s standard of behaviour, posterity will judge the current generation harshly for willingly raising and endorsing a dysfunctional community.<\/p>\n

Mambo says that despite the Defamation of the President law rescinded, it must not give room for people to insult at will, hence calling on citizens of goodwill, with the help of the Church and Traditional leadership to promote good values.<\/p>\n

Freedom of speech is being misreresented by many at large amongst the Zambiian populace especially those in opposition parties ranks! At some point I took it as political games but the escalation of uncouth language convinced me that these \u201cleaders\u201d in essence have no inklings of what the provision entails and lack intelligence of interpretation and maximal application of the rights to the betterment of governance! Zambians need to realise that they have been sleeping and wallowing in ignorance while monkeys invaded leadership! Journalists in my newly adopted country are non aligned with party politicking but hold politicians accountable for what comes out of their mouths way ahead of law enforcement agencies!<\/p>\n
