Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC) has fined US-based technology giants Apple and Amazon \u20ac194.1 million ($218 million) for breaching competition rules.<\/p>\n

Both firms restricted the number of resellers of Apple products on Amazon’s website in Spain, “unreasonably,” the commission said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Firms limited the advertising spaces on the Amazon website in Spain, it said.<\/p>\n

“Finally, they limited the possibility of Amazon directing marketing campaigns to customers of Apple products on its website in Spain to offer them competing products from other brands,” it added.<\/p>\n

The CNMC fined Amazon \u20ac143.6 million and Apple \u20ac50.5 million.<\/p>\n
