Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>UNITED Party for National Development\u2013UPND National Youth Mobilization and Finance Chairperson, Jonathan Hangwemu, says the ruling party must take former President Edgar Lungu\u2019s return to active politics seriously.<\/p>\n

Hangwemu says there is need for the UPND to ascertain what is giving Lungu the confidence to return to active politics when electorates rejected him in the 2021 elections.<\/p>\n

He remarks that the rate at which the UPND has taken to clean up the system may have given Lungu confidence to bounce back into active politics with the hope of winning an election.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Hangwemu tells Byta FM News that this should be a wake-up call on his party to check out the officers frustrating the works of the New Dawn Government suspected of being PF sympathizers.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Regardless, he says the UPND will not allow the Country to go back to the days of PF rule, where he says cadres abused state power by brutalizing innocent citizens.<\/p>\n

Efforts to get a comment from Patriotic Front-PF Monze District Chairperson, Titus Chiluba and PF Monze Central Constituency Youth Chairperson, David Chipeta were unsuccessful as their phones went unanswered.<\/p>\n

However, Lungu\u2019s return to active politics has drawn mixed reactions on social media with some welcoming the former President to active politics while others have encouraged him to retire.<\/p>\n
