Africa-Press – Zambia. <\/strong><\/span>When HH criticized the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act of 2021, he said it was aimed at suspending freedom of expression for citizens. Consequently his promise to repeal the law would be one of his first actions once elected into office.<\/p>\n

Well, he was elected into office in 2021. This is now the end of 2024 and he hasn\u2019t repealed the Act yet. Instead, he wanted to repeal it and replace it with two draconian laws from ancient despotic thinking.<\/p>\n

I am most proud of and I wish to thank the various stakeholders who spoke against government going ahead with those two draconian Bills. The church in Zambia, Progressive Civil Society Organizations including the LAZ, Members of Parliament and Concerned Individuals and the Generation Z.Thank you all for standing firm and expressing what you believe is right not only for you but also the constituents that you represent.
