Africa-Press<\/a> – Zambia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE stolen resources which will be recovered from members of the former ruling Patriotic Front (PF) will be used to expand clinics, upgrade schools and build roads, President Hakainde Hichilema has told Masaiti residents on the Copperbelt.<\/p>\n

President Hichilema said this yesterday at Kamifungo School Ground when he campaigned for UPND candidate Max Simbeye in today\u2019s local government election.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we recover the stolen assets from the opposition PF will bring the money here to expand the clinics, to have maternity wings, upgrade the schools and the roads. This is how you will have jobs here,\u201d President Hichilema said.<\/p>\n

According to ZANIS, the President also said the decentralization and devolution of government functions to ward level from central government will foster local development.<\/p>\n

President Hichilema promised that his government would ensure local development was implemented in order to bring development in the country. The President said the devolution of functions will also create jobs, improve infrastructure such as expansion of clinics, road network and schools across the country.<\/p>\n

The President told the gathering that under his administration, all constituencies would receive money for local development. \u201cI can assure you that the 2022 budget will demonstrate the difference in our leadership from them. You will receive more money to develop your local areas, that you will see,\u201d the Head of state said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also said contracts would be awarded to local skills in order to allow money to circulate in respective districts. He further pledged to empower women and youths with various programmes so as to improve their living conditions.<\/p>\n

President Hichilema urged voters of Kamifungo ward to vote for the UPND candidate to allow development in the area. Kamifungo Ward election arises from the death of UPND candidate who died before the August 12, 2021 general elections.<\/p>\n

And Simbeye pleaded with electorate of Kamifungo to vote for the UPND so that they can work towards developing the area. \u201dI am humbled to be the first Councillor to have the President campaign for me in the history of Kamifungo,\u201d said Simbeye Kalemba<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
