Africa-Press<\/a> – Zambia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>United Kingdom Minister for Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Mr. James Duddridge MP, has advised that students coming from red list countries including Zambia can travel and attend their studies as long as they abide by the laws on Covid-19.
\nThis follows queries raised by African Union (AU) Heads of Mission during a meeting with the Minister for Africa, held in March regarding visa and red list.
\nThe Minister said applications for study continue to be processed from all locations on the UK\u2019s red list.
\n\u201cStudents from Zambia intending to travel to England must complete a passengers\u2019 locator form, take a covid-19 test and book a quarantine hotel package, including two COVID-19 tests. On arrival in England, individuals must quarantine in a managed hotel, including taking two Covid-19 tests. Separate guidance is available for travelers entering Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland,\u201d said Mr. Duddridge.
\nIn January this year, the UK Government extended travel restrictions to Zambia and Southern African countries to protect against the spread of a new COVID-19 variant that was detected in South Africa.
