Africa-Press<\/a> – Zambia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>President Lazarus Chakwera has apologised to his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa for what he calls the despicable behaviour of Malawian diplomats.<\/p>\n

The development comes after all the diplomats serving in South Africa have been fired by the host country for allegedly abusing their diplomatic privileges. In his special address to the nation, Chakwera said he had spoken to Ramaphosa on the development.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assured him [Ramaphosa] that the conduct of these individuals does not represent the values of my administration and Malawian people nor does it reflect the cordial and warm bilateral relations between our two countries. In the meantime, I am pleased to report that, even before [the expulsion], all the bad apples serving in our foreign missions had already been served with letters of recall to come back home,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Chakwera has said time for letting farm produce go to waste is over, citing the availability of foreign markets for commodities. Speaking Sunday when he made a brief stop at Mangochi Boma on his way to Chikoko Bay State Lodge in the lakeshore district, Chakwera said his administration had established countless international markets for farm produce from Malawi.
