Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. NEARLY 2 000 individuals and companies have registered for the Zimbabwe Business Expo scheduled to take place in South Africa tomorrow.

The expo, in its second year running, is cementing its position as a premier platform for connecting Zimbabwean diaspora entrepreneurs, potential investors and government officials.

“This is our first edition in South Africa and we are overwhelmed by the response received so far. The level of interest from companies and individuals is very encouraging,” said Blessed Kapesa, the chairperson of the Zimbabweans in Diaspora Organisation, which is organising the event.

“We have already registered nearly 2 000 participants from various companies and backgrounds. This represents a significant growth from the inaugural edition we held in October last year in the United Kingdom.”

Among the exhibitors are Nyaradzo South Africa, West Property, Zororo Pumulani, ZimTrade, Hello Paisa, Homelink and FlyEzia, among many others.

Kapesa said the event, scheduled for Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, aimed to empower Zimbabweans abroad with vital business knowledge.

Key speakers at the event include businessman Ken Sharpe, Polite Mukonori, Clarence Mwale, Barry Mitchell and Jacquie Nyathi, along with representatives from companies such as Mukuru, Nyaradzo and ZimTrade.

Presidential Affairs and Devolution permanent secretary Tafadzwa Muguti will be the keynote speaker.

Zimbabwean ambassador to South Africa, David Hamadziripi is the guest of honour.

The expo serves as a vital platform for engagement, enabling diaspora investors to connect with key decision-makers and gain first-hand insights into the country’s business environment.

“The event offers an excellent networking opportunity, allowing attendees to connect with fellow Zimbabweans in South Africa. Building meaningful relationships and business networks is a central focus,” Kapesa said.

“The expo will also provide in-depth insights into investment opportunities in Zimbabwe. Attendees will hear from influential speakers who will showcase the country’s vast potential, helping them to make well-informed investment decisions.”
